I’ll admit that I do recognize my love language to be quality time. I think that’s why I have found myself lonely in so many crowded circumstances. Unrequited friendships leave me feeling empty. Those things are empty. And at many, many points of motherhood, the care and love you give your babies is unrequited.
Six years ago wasn’t that long ago but everything has changed. When I remember her, I don’t think of how perfect she was, because she was anything but. But, she had freedom in her choices and life was so beautifully simple. So this in-between I’m living in, is that forever?
Mommies don’t do everything right. You are your own person. I support you in your decisions and I am here for you when you fall. Because darling – you will fall. That is what life is all about.
I’ve said over and over that my boys have broken me, and while that is true, their wild ways and deep, deep love continue to heal me, daily.
